In 2016 ontmoeten choreograaf Guilherme Miotto en Nasser el Jackson elkaar. Guilherme valt als een blok voor Nassers uitzonderlijke persoonlijkheid en bewegingskwaliteit – een wonderlijke combinatie van charisma, dienstbaarheid, elegantie en virtuositeit. Hij besluit een avondvullende solo te maken voor de Tilburgse baltovenaar die ook optreedt als ambassadeur straatvoetbal voor de KNVB. Of kunnen we het beter een duet noemen voor man en bal? Nee. Nog meer dan dat is het een trio: een trio tussen man, bal en ruimte, met het lef en de schoonheid van alles wat bevochten moet worden. Net als in zijn eerdere werk ontvouwt Miotto in Ball de vitale drang, ontwapenende kracht en onverzettelijke tederheid van een lichaam dat wil overleven.

Choreographer Guilherme Miotto and Nasser El Jackson meet in 2016. Guilherme is instantly charmed by Nasser’s exceptional personality and quality of movement – a wonderful combination of charisma, servitude, elegance and virtuosity. He decides to create a solo for the ball artist from Tilburg, who also steps up as street football ambassador for the KNVB. Or perhaps we best call it a duet for a man and his ball? No. Even more than that: it’s a trio. A trio between a man, his ball and the space – complete with the courage and the beauty of everything that has to be fought. Just as in his earlier work, Miotto unfolds the vital need with Ball, disarming strength and unforgettable tenderness of a body that longs to survive.
