Love & Leisure – 15 December 2024, Gemeenschapshuis d’n Binger in Meijel
Zondag 15 december 2024 vond in Gemeenschapshuis d’n Binger in Meijel van 09.00 tot 12.00 de verzamelbeurs van Verzamelaarsvereniging “De Peelstreek” plaats. Studenten van kunstacademies AKV St. Joost en Hogeschool Artez stelden tijdens deze verzamelbeurs hun creatieve reflecties op verzamelen tentoon te midden van verzamelaars. Als onderdeel van het Love & Leisure project van Corpo Máquina Society.
Love & Leisure draaide om de ontmoeting en uitwisseling tussen verzamelaars en kunststudenten. Waar komt de liefde voor verzamelen vandaan? Welke rol speelt het in de huidige samenleving? En hoe gaat de jongere generatie hiermee om? Deze vragen vormden het uitgangspunt voor diepgaande gesprekken en creatieve reflecties. Corpo Máquina Society heeft Love & Leisure geïnitieerd uit nieuwsgierigheid naar en vanwege het belang van dialoog met andere domeinen en disciplines. Tegelijkertijd wilde Corpo Máquina Society aandacht vestigen op het (h)erkennen van expressie.
De voorafgaande twee maanden hadden de aan Love & Leisure deelnemende studenten zich volledig ondergedompeld in de wereld van verzamelaars. Ze bezochten verzamelbeurzen in Meijel, Weert, Utrecht en Den Bosch, waar ze in gesprek gingen met verzamelaars en zich lieten inspireren door de diversiteit van verzamelobjecten: van postzegels en suikerzakjes tot sigarenbandjes en munten.
De fascinatie voor de verzamelcultuur heeft de studenten geïnspireerd om hun eigen connecties met het thema te onderzoeken. Vanuit de ervaringen op de verzamelbeurzen en de verhalen van verzamelaars hadden ze een breed scala aan kunstwerken gecreëerd. Elk werk bood een unieke blik op de persoonlijke betekenis van verzamelen, soms poëtisch, soms prikkelend.
Love & Leisure was/is een uniek kunstzinnig uitwisselingsproject tussen studenten van de kunstacademies Sint Joost in Breda en Den Bosch, en Artez in Arnhem. Het project werd gecoördineerd door Bram van der Snel en Quintijn Relouw.

Love & Leisure – 15 December 2024, Community Centre d’n Binger in Meijel
On Sunday 15 December 2024, the collectors’ association ‘De Peelstreek’ held its collectors’ fair at Community Centre d’n Binger in Meijel from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Students from the AKV St. Joost art academy and Artez University of Applied Sciences exhibited their creative reflections on collecting among collectors during this collectors’ fair. This was part of the Love & Leisure project by Corpo Máquina Society.
Love & Leisure revolved around encounters and exchanges between collectors and art students. Where does the love of collecting come from? What role does it play in today’s society? And how does the younger generation deal with it? These questions formed the starting point for in-depth conversations and creative reflections. Corpo Máquina Society initiated Love & Leisure out of curiosity and because of the importance of dialogue with other domains and disciplines. At the same time, Corpo Máquina Society wanted to draw attention to the recognition and acknowledgement of expression.
During the previous two months, the students participating in Love & Leisure had immersed themselves completely in the world of collectors. They visited collectors’ fairs in Meijel, Weert, Utrecht and Den Bosch, where they talked to collectors and were inspired by the diversity of collectibles: from stamps and sugar packets to cigar bands and coins.
The fascination with collecting culture inspired the students to explore their own connections with the theme. Based on their experiences at the collectors’ fairs and the stories of collectors, they created a wide range of artworks. Each work offered a unique perspective on the personal significance of collecting, sometimes poetic, sometimes provocative.
Love & Leisure was/is a unique artistic exchange project between students from the Sint Joost art academies in Breda and Den Bosch, and Artez in Arnhem. The project was coordinated by Bram van der Snel and Quintijn Relouw.
